#Dailybread

Hey guys! Whats up? So its been a month, The routine is coming! yay! Im not saying im fluent but I did understand like five words this sunday, hahah. I actually kind of undertood! I was happy about that and it made yesterday pretty good. But yeah this week has been really great! Still doing a ton of inviting and yeah.

A little miracle that I forgot to tell you about like maybe a week ago was while we were looking for a place  to cut elder andersons hair, we went to like five places the first nobody there, even after us yelling a bunch, the next one there was nobody there, the third one we walked into and then just walked out cuz there was porn all over the walls, and then when we asked this lady on the street if there was any more hair places, the lady said to go around the corner. At this point we were just done and this place we walked into and there was a lady. I took a video of us being there. Her daughter came over and sarted talking to her. Then Elder anderson started talking to her about the plan of salvation and we ended up geting her number and she said that her kids could come to english class! #dailybread. Im starting to invite by myself alot more. Elder Anderson is goo at giving me just enough where I can handle it but its still out of my comfort zone. People are really nice to white poeple haha. And I guess I'm as white as it gets!

On Friday we did swith offs with the DL's and it was really fun I got to hang out with elder bjarnsen all day. Hes really good at gymnastics and doing backflips on the ground so we got to do that together. We went inviting at the Ratchaphat (college) in Gempaeng phet and Bjarnsen is an inviting beast, I learned alot. We got two investigators, one was this old religeous professor or teacher. and the other was this army dude. There was these two girls sitting on a table and Bjarnsen told me it was my turn haha. I went up and in broken thai told them we were missionaries and that we represented jesus christ. and that he is our savior. Then Bjarnsen taught them about the god head and I taught them how to pray! then we said one and I felt the spirit. #dailybread. So a ton of potential investigsators but still none are super solid YET, fingers crossed!

Very happy to be able to be here this kind of thing changes you so much for sure. Anderson keeps saying that a year in the mission is like five years in maturity. I think hes right, also There was a quote that papa English sent me in the MTC and I think its awesome. It goes something like, "Stop worrying about what others are achieving and the successes they're having, the point of life is to outdo your PAST SELF, not other people!". Love that. #dailybread Also there has consistently been like a massive rain/lightning storm at like four in the morning for the past three days and then its way clear throughout the day.

#dailybread = Daily scripture study, daily prayer, daily looking for miracles. And, new theme for my mission haha

Love you guys a ton,  Elder English

Weekly Letter to Mission President - 02 Oct 2017: Hey president! Just having a blast! Still think that its crazy how lucky I am to be here, this is definitely something that I never in a million years thought that I would serve in Thailand. The members are great they help me with my Thai and are extremely forgiving when I mess up (all the time). Anderson is a great trainer. He is very good at giving me enough freedom and push for growth but not throwing me out in the cold ya know. I think that the first two weeks after the interview with you I had still alot of thoughts about unworthiness and that but I think these past couple weeks I have improved on it alot. I still have alot of times where I have those feelings and it sucks but I usually read alma thirty six a bunch of times and I have this picture of Christ that I slip into those pages. I feel better usually after I read it. Just get scared sometimes that I am going to remember something even though I have tried my best to remember and have cleared everything I could up. I usually just think about what Christ would say to me at that point. So on the up and up! gettin better! Thanks for all you do, which is alot, Elder English

Letter From Dad: HI Studd! It's cool I think I'm starting to miss you less and that's a good thing.. Wait, let me explain and please don't take that wrong!! What I mean is I am not having nervous feelings about you as much, like knowing you're ok and actually happy in the process of a challenging language in a new culture and putting up with the little things that bother you about your companion.. Outside of the kimono Dragon being right there in the open at the park- seeing pictures and videos of you and your environment here and there really has helped me feel comforted that you are doing well. Thank you for that! Tell us more about your investigator pool right now.. Are you teaching anyone consistently? Is anyone committed to baptism. BTW, I loved seeing the baptism of that guy you both were a part of! It was also cool that he was baptized in a river or what ever type of water that was. I enjoyed seeing the church organization operates in other countries, it gave me a new connection to the early saints of the church and what comforts they sacrificed. Also, appreciation for the intimacy of having very few people in a ward or branch and still being able to get the blessings of the gospel in more simple ways. How many members are in your ward/branch? Something kind of cool- In the priests quorum for the closing prayer, every leader and priest get down on their knees while one priest is chosen to say the prayer and that priest calls out a special blessing for each of the recent priest, first and last name, that has left on their mission. That brings a special spirit to the room.I love hearing your name and it makes me so proud to be your father!! Thanks for honoring your priesthood and for your example of obedience!! love you! DAD
