Love is the Answer

Hello everybody! So we're just having an adventure out here! This week we were just going super hard with trying to meet with the people we have, and finding new people. Because there are some super promising investigators that we want to build up before we refer them to other missionaries. It's kinda cool to see the effect that the gospel can have on people. Take our investigator somquan for example... He wasn't happy before and had lots of problems but he has grown so much with God. More than he could have ever done without God. We visited his family this week. So not at his work. And he said that it was about six kilos out and turns out it was twenty. So all in all we biked about 25 miles total in two hours and in a rain storm. He's hilarious. There is this pretty cool lady that came to church last week who lives like an hour away and she wants us to get her whole neighborhood to go to our church.  Also me and Hodson are Chillin together. So pretty much this next t...

Letter from Mom

From mom: Hello! So was it transfers this week? I am heading out in a minute to meet Elder Hodsons mom for lunch. I am excited to meet her and talk about you both and what you are doing out there. It is so fun to know that you both have so many connections.  How was last week? Are you enjoying your area still?  Do you get to ride a bike everywhere still? How far do you ride each day? Is the food in Surin as good as everywhere else you have been? What is the best part about your mission right now? What is the hardest part about your mission right now? I just got back from lunch. Elder Hodsons mom is so nice. We had a great time! I am so glad we could get to know each other. All of our kids are similar ages. Except Jameson of course.  Will you add her to you mission emails? Just get the email address from elder Hodson.  This last week, Jayce went to Homecoming. It was his first date. I took the pictures of course. He was one of the only ones who could drive. We ...

Hodson, Referrals & Miracles

Weekly Letter to Mission President - 10 Sep 2018: Hey president so this week we saw a lot of things happening we ended up giving three of our investigators baptismal dates. They have seen lots of miracles and their faith has grown. We are having a good amount of investigators that are referrals come in. Hodson is doing great and is a skilled teacher. He is very reliable when we are working together. He has a good head on his shoulders I guess. We had maybe one or two days this last week that we didn't talk to ten people. We need to find more time to do that and to just do it wherever. I love the work and this area.  President Hammond: Wonderful miracles!

Sunshine, Sunshine, Gonna let it Shine

HI GIES Just lettin yall know how alive and well this missionary of the Lord is because last week I failed to send out an email. I know you all read these so intently and were no doubt wondering why in the world I didnt send one out. I was lazy. So yeah I guess Ill start with last P-day in which we rode Elephants cuz you gotta do that in Surin apparently. Also we had a fantastic family home evening where about twenty people (half our active branch) came to this one house and we all ate food and we gave a lesson to everyone and we sang songs and the like.  The week was a large blur of biking and just going literally as hard as we can. We have worked so hard this transfer and... I think its starting to really pay off. We have been calling all the potential investigators in the phone and were just inviting and talking to people. Its the best. We go to bed and I am so tired but I fall asleep happy as can be. Its the best thing ever. Along with that there is something special abo...

Weekly Letter to Mission President  - 03 Sep 2018: Hey president so this week talking to ten people every day went well, some days were a lot more but everyday we got to at least ten I'm pretty sure. But I have loved doing it it really causes us to get outside of our shell and speak with and love the people. Elder Hodson is doing well. He is getting accustomed and is improving alot. He actually has been able to lead a couple of lesson with LA's which is alot better than I was. A miracle that came from talking with people is probably that just because we have been putting in work and trying to speak with everyone about the gospel, we have been able to Receive about three referrals this week. Very happy to serve here. Elder English *President Hammond: Keep making it happen!
