Spaghetti!
Our P-day last week was on wednesday because it was transfers. So what happened was the night of transfers me and hodson got a call from president and you don't get called unless your a trainer or like a DL or something so I thought Hodson was gonna train cuz hes a baller. But Presidents like hey im 90% sure your going up to Chiang rai. I was like k. So i was unsure about that for a while but then we figured it out. So right now I'm as far north as you can possibly go as a missionary in Chiang Rai and these last couple days have been fun. My new companion is on his second transfer, his name is Elder Kearsley, hes a very awesome missionary he's extremely good at the language already and has a good head on his shoulders so I don't really feel like im training, haha. But every companion has something different to give, maybe I can teach him how to do a pop-a-wheelie on a bike or something!! Haha well we have just been hitting the streets up here. The views while we drove into the city where awesome, ill have to snap some pictures for you guys. This place is just mountains and rainforest mountains. Its also the cold season so the weather is sooooo nice. It gets to like 70 in the night time.
Well we went to church and I was so happy. We have a full bishopric here... and they are all FIRE they all have stuff for us to do! Its so nice and they are mostly younger people so they are all RM or prospective so they are so filled with the spirit of revelation. Also three people from Utah showed up at church and so I got to translate for them with a microphone for the first hour. It was good. Then we went into second and third hour. We taught second hour and then third hour the Dad of the american family came to the priesthood class and they literally wanted him to speak so much so I was like speaking for him and translating everything that was said. It was really cool. He said its so nice to see the gospel at its purest form and that its the same and we are all brothers and sisters wherever we go! Then that night we made spaghetti and ate with the other sister companionship in our district. Our district has like 4 people in it. Its the best and the other companionship has a brand new missionary too, her name is sister jenkins and her trainer is sister Chipman.
Well this is the craziest best time EVER and am so glad to be out here just truckin along… Elder English
Weekly Letter to Mission President- 05 Nov 2018: Hey president its super great being out here in chiang rai. Very happy to be put in this area with such hard working members and with a hard working companion. Kearsley has a really strong desire to be a hard worker and I will try my best to keep that fire going. Were going to work hard this transfer. Very excited to work with this district too. They are doing well. Sister Jenkins is adjusting well, she was a little tired the past couple of days as most new missionaries are but she seems to be doing a lot better. And Sister Chipman is going to be a great Trainer. We're doing well and are working hard. Elder English
President Hammond: Great report! Great faith and diligence!
